Governor Scott Begins Process of Considering Thinking About Deciding on Re-election Plans

MONTPELIER – Governor Scott has announced his plans to potentially begin the process that could lead to considering whether or not to think about a possible decision on if he will run for re-election next year. The Governor has enjoyed vetoing things, but is unsure if that thrill is worth all the people yelling at him.

“I can’t give a definite answer right now,” Governor Scott told press when asked about a potential third term as Vermont’s top politician. “It’s way too early to even think about deciding. But I will promise to consider thinking about deciding in the near future. I would hope that by the spring, you know, around June of next year, I would have some idea of whether or not I might agree to contemplate a re-election campaign, but I can’t confirm that at this very early time.”

Governor Scott later said that he was surprised the question even came up, with the 2020 elections still over 16 months away. “Can you imagine if people started campaigning now for an election almost a year and half in the future? What a mess this country would be in. But I’ll try and let you know before next October if I have any plans to begin a preliminary investigation into an exploratory committee to discuss my hypothetical campaign.”
