OBITUARY: Cameron “Cam” N. Zintz (1941-2019)

Cameron “Cam” Nathan Zintz left this world on December 10th, 2019 after a long battle with many idiots. He is survived by his two children, Nan and Rhetta, and predeceased by his wife Inna.

Born in Stowe, Vermont to parents Horace and Goodie, Cam was a man who always knew what was best. His measured speech and careful consideration led to many successful business and personal decisions, most notably the fact that he never sought public office, despite desperate public insistence that he was needed in the top levels of government.

As a child he enjoyed reading and playing outside. His imagination was the best toy he could have ever wished for, and he used it constantly. Other children in town would often ask Cam to settle disputes, as his solutions were fair and equitable. Even after growing up he never watched more than one hour of television per day, preferring to spend his time engaged in conversations with friends and family.

Cam worked for most of his life as a mediator, although he retired early when folks stopped listening to him and his advice. At the end of his life he felt somewhat abandoned by his community and the world at large. His children are sure that if people these days had really gotten to know him instead of ignoring him, their lives would have been enriched immensely.

His death was announced on social media, despite his never signing up for any accounts, but many people could not believe that he was gone, choosing instead to believe that they knew more of Cam than actual facts and reality. Cam always researched every issue before claiming any expertise on the subject, making the fact that the internet cannot recognize his absence all the more bittersweet.

Officially ruled an accident, those close to Cam feel that his death was due to negligence and will be filing a civil suit against everyone in the country for letting him die a slow and needless death.

Whether you knew him personally, or only heard of him second hand, he will be missed. It’s a sad day when we wake up in a world without Cam N. Zintz in it. We may never see his like again.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local arts organization or school, as Cam passionately supported education and the arts.
