Star 92.9 FM Switches Over to All Easter Music Today!

COLCHESTER – Top local radio station Star 92.9 will officially switch its format to all Easter music starting at noon today and continuing throughout Holy Week. The station usually plays popular music from the past three decades, but occasionally switches over to alternative formats to commemorate religious holidays.

The station’s commitment to Christianity was last seen between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when they replaced more secular tunes like “Cheap Thrills” with classics such as “O Holy Night.” Deejays say that listeners can expect a similar experience over the coming week.

The normal pop music selections can still be streamed on their app or through their website, but listeners tuning in on the radio, expecting to hear “Wake Me Up” by Avicii will instead hear “Up From the Grave He Arose” off of Justin Timerlake’s recent Easter album “Tombless.” Pentatonix has just released a funky version of The Hallelujah Chorus which is expected to receive heavy airplay. Also in rotation will be “Were You There” by Justin Bieber, and Mariah Carey’s remixed “All I Want For Easter is You.”
